US, Egypt negotiating Sinai security aid package

In the wake of the attack that killed 16 Egyptian soldiers near the border with Israel last Sunday, the United States and Egypt are negotiating a package of assistance to address what administration officials described as a worsening security vacuum in the Sinai Peninsula. Egypt’s new president, Mohamed Morsi, and its military leaders balked last month when Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta each separately pressed them to act more aggressively against extremists operating in Sinai. But after the attack, Egypt appears to have overcome its sensitivities about sovereignty and accelerated talks over the details of new American assistance, which would include military equipment, police training, and electronic and aerial surveillance, the officials said.

Egypt: Defense Minister’s dismissal General Tantawi

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy fired defense minister Mohamed Hussein Tantawi and chief of staff Gen. Sami Enan on Sunday. According to state television, Abdul-Fatah al-Sessi would replace Tantawi as defence minister and the general commander of the army.

Pray for the safety of Sinai region and for the borders between Egypt and Israel. Pray so that Egypt can put all means to secure the region.

Pray for the stability and for the government in Egypt, the situation seems tense between the new Egyptian president and the Egyptian people.

Pray for the peace agreement between Egypt and Israel. Pray for the Israeli populations living close to the egyptian border.

A rocket fired from Gaza hit Eshkol Regional Council

According to Kol Israel Radio, a rocket hit at the Eshkol Regional Council and exploded in an open area. There were no reports of damages or injuries.

Hizbullah: Claims Rockets Can Reach All of Israel

The Hizbullah terror leadership claimed Monday that its missiles can now reach all of Israeli territory. Speaking at a ceremony in southern Lebanon, Nabil Ka'uk announced from the podium that “Hizbullah rockets can reach all Israeli settlements,” referring to Israeli towns and cities.

Pray for the border areas between Israel and other territories. Pray for the protection of these areas and for populations that live there. Pray that God continues to divert enemy fire towards open areas. Pray that every weapon in the hands of Hizbullah and Hamas are destroyed and cannot be used against Israel.

300,000 tourists in Israel in July

Nearly 300,000 tourists arrived in July, a record for the month and an 8 percent increase over the previous July, according to the Tourism Ministry. The trend is nothing new: The ministry says each month of 2012 so far has set an all-time record for that month.

Thanks Lord, for the tourism sector that is important for the Israeli economy, is booming. Pray for an increase in tourism in the next months (with autumn festivals in Israel). Pray for the protection of tourists in Israel and for the Israeli that travel outside of Israel. Pray for an increase in hotel capacity in Israel.

European Union: Parts of Modi'in do not belong to Israel

The European Union has decided that the city of Modiin-Maccabim-Reut (Modiin) is not a part of Israel. The city was built on what was no-man’s land after the 1948 War of Independence, and therefore will not be considered Israel proper, EU officials said. The decision was made as part of an EU initiative to decide which Israeli products will benefit from tax breaks under a 1995 agreement.

Israeli and EU officials reached an understanding years ago according to which items produced in areas settled by Israel after 1967 will not enjoy tax breaks despite the 1995 deal. According to the understanding, Israeli exporters label their products with the place of production, and EU officials decide whether the location is considered “territories” or “Israel.” Modiin is located halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and has a population of roughly 80,000. Products from the city were previously marked “Israel” along with items produced west of the 1948 armistice line.

Ancient Modiin was the home of the Maccabees, who led a revolt against Greek rule nearly 2,000 years ago. The city later became the seat of Jewish leadership in the land of Israel for over a century.

Pray so that the Lord destroys the boycotts and the attempts of boycotts against Israel and the Israeli products.

Iran to host meeting on Intifada

Iran is set to host a meeting on promoting "the issue of Palestine and the Intifada" and "liberating  the Holy Qods" (Jerusalem), the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported Sunday.  According to IRNA, the meeting on the "Islamic Awakening and liberation of Palestine" on Monday ahead of 'Qods Day' ('Jerusalem Day'), an annual Iranian anti-Zionist event organized by the Organization of the Culture and Islamic Communication, will include high-ranking Iranian officials, ambassadors from Islamic countries and Palestinian groups.

It is intended to promote ideas on "the influence of the Islamic Awakening on the issue of Palestine and the Intifada" and "focus on ways to attain the ultimate goal of liberating the Holy Qods which embodies the dignity of the world Muslims."

Pray that alliances against Israel be destroyed. Pray that the wicked plans against Israel fail.  The Lord protects and watches over Israel. He that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep

Haifa: 12K tons of ammonia are putting in danger thousands of people

More dangerous than the Hezbollah, Hamas and Iran together, it’s certainly the opinion of environmental experts about a reserve of 12 tons of ammonia gas located in the port of Haifa. In case of a missile strike or an earthquake, the life of thousands people could be endangered.

Pray for the protection of all sensitive areas in Israel that could be affected by missile or attacks in Israel.  Supply of chemicals, fuel, gas, petrochemical plants, nuclear plants, military installations, pipelines.

Weather services have announced a slight drop in temperatures. Jerusalem: 29 degrees, Tel Aviv: 30 degrees, Haifa: 31 degrees, Eilat: 41 degrees.

Pray so that the temperatures in Israel can continue to be lower to limit forest fires.
